EARLY WINTER WEEK DAY BLITZ!!
JANUARY 17, 18 & 19 2012

January is absolutely the most overlooked
time for hitting the Algonquin Park area trails!
It's usually fluffy powder mid to late January,
and although a little colder than February,
makes for some amazing WINTER getaways!
This year, we're offering a flexible package,
featuring snowmobiling, dogsledding,
and even a bit of winter horseback riding!

When you arrive at the farm at approx 6 pm
on your first evening, we enjoy a delicious"meet
and greet" dinner, over which we get acquainted
(nothing but the best homecooked food, of course!)
Your gear is stowed in a spacious, wood heated
cabin tucked away on our wilderness property,
with nice thick foam bunks, woodstove & living area,
and then we don our gear for a fantatsic NIGHT RUN!

We'll take you for a quick night time scoot, to get the
juices flowing! After a nice introductory ride, we'll head
back to the cabin, to enjoy a nice bonfire and a few
refreshments by the fire.  Nighttime riding is a blast!
There's something very exciting about seeing the
wilderness with only your guide, your friends, and
the headlamp of your machines to point the way.
We see plenty of wildlife at night, and if the moon is full,
it reveals the panorama surrounding you in an eerie glow.
Our first night of riding is an exceptionally exciting experience -
the city is behind you - and the wilderness envelopes you.

A group of clients from Bavaria - these guys were a hoot!

A warm fire, refreshments, and a few snacks await you!
The cabin that is our home for two days is a large, modest
cabin that has everything you'll need to be comfortable for
your stay. The two seperate bunk rooms easily sleep 16 people,
& there is a large living room with TV/DVD for relaxing on the couch
in front of the woodstove, playing cards, or just njoying yourselves!
There is a privvy next to the cabin, for convenience at night.
All you need is your sleeping bag and pillow and you're all set.
During t he day there are showers and washrooms at the farmhouse
just a short walk from this private cabin in the woods. Meals are
taken at the farmhouse and on the trail - no work, just lots of play!

After a good nights sleep and a hearty breakfast the following morning, we begin our first
BIG run on the sleds, touring the white pine forests on the thousands of acres of crown land
surrounding the camp.   After a quick stop back at the farm for lunch, it's back out again to
see the sights ~ for a full day of snowmobile touring of approximately 6 hours of riding.
That evening, back at the cabin, we'll stuff you with a wonderful home cooked meal, so you
can relax, kick back, relive the days' snowmobile adventures, and enjoy some 'refreshments'
and even a cheery outdoor fire in the fire pit - with just the stars above for decoration.

Ontario Snowmobile tours - lodges and resorts.jpg (35267 bytes)Day two at the camp features more of the same starting
with a HUGE breakfast.  There's plenty of snowmobile trails
still to see!  We enjoy one of Ontario's best trail systems which
feature some EXTENSIVE & magnificent scenery, lots of wildlife,
and if you come through the week, hardly any traffic! We'll take
lunch on the trail at one of the area's popular rustic restaurants,
before hitting the groomed trails again for the afternoon run.
It's a great finale for this wonderful snowmobile adventure,
& you'll finish your tour feeling totally in awe of the Algonquin area.

So wait a minute! This says snowmobiling only so far.
~ so where are the other tours? Well here's how it works.
The Friday night run is a sample of what snowmobiling
has to offer. Some people will enjoy it enough to want
to do the following full day tour - others will want something
a little different! So, on Saturday, there are options! You
can hit the skidoo trails with your guide - or, you can try
a dogsled tour during the morning run. Everyone meets
back at the house for lunch - and then there is the option
to rejoin the snowmobilers, or, if you would rather, bundle
up and try a horseback riding lesson in our new indoor
riding arena during the afternoon. It's an option that we
can now offer and we're excited to show you our horses,
if it's something you think you'd enjoy. Sunday, everyone
regroups for a morning snowmobile tour (because you
really need to see the sights in daylight at least once!
There's a nice three hour loop out to a local resort, where
you can try a nice trail side lunch, and enjoy the best of
our Algonquin area snowmobiling trails. It's a relaxed
weekend full of options, so that you can mix and match!

If you LOVE the wilderness ~ the whispering of the pines in a winter
breeze, and the soft sound of giant snowflakes hitting the ground
~ if you love a taste of adventure ~ the hum of your machine as
it carries you over the frozen landscape ~ the patter of dog's feet as
they pant on down the trail - or even the breath of a horse as it
fogs up the air - a winter cabin nestled in the forest, a woodstove crackling ....
The important thing to remember is on this trip, there's NONE of the worries ~
we've got you covered! The question is "are you ready to roll?"
