JOIN US FOR SOME quality 'TOGETHER' TIME at our
'Mother Daughter Horse Camp'
May 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 2008
You asked for it, you've got it moms!
Nows your chance to take your daughter
away for a weekend and show her up!!
Ok, well maybe she'll enjoy watching
your pain, but hey, if a kid can do it....?
Trail riding, camp fires, riding lessons,
and other great 'hands on' horse related
sessions you can share with that special
youngster in your life. It'll keep you
young - it's why you had kids, right!??

We have had many requests over the past years
to cook up something 'special' for our mothers
and daughters. This really great idea has finally
come to pass and we're really looking forward to
putting on a great weekend for you! It's reasonably
priced, and packed with fun. Lots of trail riding,
paddock lessons and games, and even some special
events that will teach you the ropes and how to handle
yourself on horseback. Now, your daughter will have
a chance to show you up! (and maybe tease you a little)
No MAJOR experience necessary - just a love of horses!

Before you get too nervous, remember -
we've been in the Public Trail Riding
& Horse Camp business for a while!
Our horses are used to taking out our
Rookie riders every day throughout
the summer, so this should help to relax
you and allow you to thoroughly enjoy
the experience. Rain or shine, we'll be
outside enjoying spring sunshine and
making the most of the much anticipated
spring days! Our trails are beautiful, our
riding paddock large and spacious, and
the weekend will include instruction,
so that you can learn how to ride &
take control of your mount and enjoy
the challenge of a few aching muscles!
Here's Cowboy and one of his riders
taking a drink from a nearby stream.
Doesn't it look like a BLAST??!

And of course, you'll learn PLENTY
during this weekend. Working together
with our instructors, in the morning
you'll learn how to groom, sadle &
bridle a horse,
as well as
groom, lead,
tie,
mount and dismount - and of course,
walk, trot and maybe even canter! We'll
keep the instruction within your limits,
and you'll be very surprised at how easy
it is to ride and handle a horse, when you
have a good one that works WITH you!

We'll spend a bit of time on proper
management and health care as well.
I'm sure some of you have always
wanted to have a horse of your own,
and we'll make sure you get a really
thorough taste of what it takes to
properly care for an equine friend. It's
like caring for a giant, moving hairy doll!

We'll try not to let the girls show you up,
moms! Kids have a natural love of horses
and quickly and easily eat up ALL the time
spent with our four footies. Most kids have
ridden and it helps if our younger participants
have a bit of experience. But make no mistake,
there will be lots of riding and horse time to
make sure everyone takes home something
special from their weekend away with MOM.
A boot with a heel is all you need - the rest is
supplied by our business - check out our camper
list page for a list of things to bring to M&D Camp.

Our trails are beautiful, and we'll get you out on
a trail ride (or two!) so that you can see the sights.
The Hastings Highlands are riddled with lakes
and streams, and thousands of hectares of pristine
forests and swamps. Our riding system travels right
through the heart of some of the most beautiful trails!
Oh yes, and there will be plenty of riding instruction!
Paddock games and formal lessons - lots of chances
to put your skills to the test! Here, Holly and a nine year
old Camper take a turn at our barrel racing - YEE HAW.

Rain or shine, we'll go with the flow and make
the most of our weekend of horseback fun. Spring
has a certain appeal, with the pitter patter of rain
reminding us that May flowers are not far away!
With the proper gear, riding is fun in ANY weather.
Check out our 'dressing right' page for handy tips!

Of course, we have our gorgeous new cabin,
complete with two bunkrooms, common room,
tv, dvd, couches, chairs, and games table. It's a
home away from home, with the campfire just
outside the door, and a 4" foam pad with your
name on it! It's comfortable, but tucked away in
the woods on our farm, for that 'vacation' feel!

And what camp wouldn't be fun without a CAMPFIRE and some SMORES? Of course,
our campfire is a given, and we'll enjoy it both nights on the weekend. Bring along your
favorite chair, or set yourself down on a hay bale or one of the camp chairs, to enjoy it!
So if you are looking for a full immersion,
soft adventure on horseback - want to enjoy
some quality time with your daughter (S)
and have a taste for excitement and pushing
your limits then this camp is for you! Don't let
the 'over forty' blahs get you down. Yes, at 'your'
age, and with gravity wreaking havoc, it hurts to
roll over on the couch - remember, no pain, no gain!

And here, you see our goal. If your daughter is not in the POSE by weeks' end,
then you'll just have to send her back to summer horse camp. We'll pack her
so full of fun and sun, and the smell of spring sunshine, she'll never wake up!
So if your young rider is comfortable
around horses, is totally obsessed with
riding, is falls within the experience range
(see main camp page for description)
this horse camp is a perfect solution!
