The
focus of this camp ~ A Polished Performance!
FACT - Kids LOVE to jump.
They'll do lots of that during Hunter Jumper
Week.
FACT - Kids LOVE to meet new 'HORSEY'
friends.
Camp is small and private, and campers always
blend well here!
FACT - Kids need a gentle learning
environment.
Our camp coach, Penny Nicol, is a positive yet very
energetic force.
FACT - Kids love to spend time with horses.
They'll have their own horse for the whole darn
week!
FACT - Camps don't always focus on just plain
riding.
Our camp is week long FULL immersion for maximum horse time.
FACT - Kids LOVE to show off.
They'll strut their stuff at our
HUNTER/JUMPER SCHOOLING SHOW.
Sarah Frank is one of the many quality instructors who have helped our campers!

This camp is for girls who want to
expand their skills.
So what do they need for
background experience?

Performing at a Show means
having
some equipment.
So is this camp expensive? What will they need?
ASTM approved Helmet (we have some if needed)
A sleeping bag and favorite pillow (and the usual camp stuff)
Spare 'hack around' breeches for daily riding lessons.
For that 'official look' - a black helmet cover for our camp helmets.

Is this Camp only for
hotshot riders with
lots
of
EXPENSIVE
lessons
under their belt?
NO SIRREE!!. THIS CAMP
IS FOR EVERYONE.
Children of all ages can learn
to jump & show off a bit.
It's not hard
if you have
a
a strong desire to learn &
develop seat & riding skills - and our coach loves to teach!
We ALL
started somewhere,
and this is the perfect place to start the process!
We get a
BROAD mix of experience levels at ALL our camps, but especially this camp.
Just to make sure nerves don't hamper enjoyment, there are classes for all levels!
The whole point of the week is to ENJOY. Well, and keep campers safe
and comfortable!
It's an intensive program with twice daily 'in depth' lessons,
starting off at their current
level,
and
with daily progression,
they will be fully
prepared for
their big debut at our Show!
This camp has a good 'bang for the buck' and your rider will go home happy and confident.
Our goal is to have our campers leave with
a feeling of accomplishment!
Pictured here are Sport & Grace - relaxed and confident after a week together!
CONCERNED ABOUT CLOTHING?

OUR
HORSES ARE AWESOME!
CAMP HORSES
We have a nice selection of pretty
Quarter Horses & flashy Appaloosas,
handsome Crossbred Drafts, Sport Horses
& Warmbloods. They are all camper
friendly horses
with a wide variety
of sizes, speeds and talents
to keep your
young rider happy throughout
the week.
We believe that the key to a good
team
for the show is 'horse & rider combination!'
We do our best to make good matches
at the beginning of the week, to pave
the way to a week long harmonious bond.
We've worked hard to build a great herd,
and keep them year round for maximum value
for our campers, and maximum safety for all!

IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT DRILL DRILL DRILL....
Camp is supposed to be fun - and social - and enjoyable!
What matters most to us, as riding stable operators and
Ontario Children's Horse Camp Program providers,
is that YOUR CHILD has a good time, meets lots
of friends, learns as much as they can, and has a very
memorable experience. Camp is supposed to be FUN!!
(we enjoy our campers, because teaching is what we do!)

After a day filled with horseback
riding, lessons and other
outdoor
horsey activity, we'll enjoy a
fresh home-cooked dinner
at the
farmhouse, and later, spend
the evening
enjoying a cheery
outdoor fire. Our horse campers
will enjoy a HUGE cabin with
lounge & TV & DVD player.
Neat, clean, and fresh - a week of home to all.
SO HERE'S WHAT THEY'RE GONNA DO.
KIDS ARRIVE. HORSES ARE ASSIGNED. FUN BEGINS!
Daily morning & afternoon lesson in
our 120 x 240 sand ring.
(2 - 4 hrs of riding lessons per day as agenda
requires)
Lessons cover flatwork & basic
jumping skills, beginner to advanced.
(Lessons with Penny Nicol & a Clinic with Heather Kirk)
Trail Rides on our
wilderness property & crown land.
(a great chance to relax and enjoy the scenery!)
Lounging, swimming & socializing (in the pool)
(this is a favorite time for all the girls, and a great chance to cool off!)
Three squares a day, plus snacks and
lots of drinks throughout the day.
(our meals are one of the highlights of camp, with
great homecooked food)
Building their own course & showing ~
complete with a horse spa day.
(getting their horses & themselves ready for
show day is a
HUGE highlight for campers!)
(kids love building the course - it's one of their favorite parts)

OF COURSE WE HAVE TO SWIM!
There are a variety of lakes close to the farm,
and we have an 18' pool for convenience.
After getting warmed up in the ring or on the
trails, our campers cancool off and
enjoy some downtime from riding.
OUR CLINICIAN - Beth Bouma!
Our campers will enjoy a clinic
with Beth Bouma, a successful
Eventer and a Level 1 EC Certified
Coach with over 15 years of bringing
students from beginner to high levels.
Beth is a positive, knowledgeable coach
in Jumper, Eventing, and Dressage.
Cross country is the focus of this
really exciting all day clinic for the
girls. Beth has evented to Prelim,
training higher in dressage & Jumper.
Head coach at Ashtone Farms, Beth's
students are always the ones to beat!
Pictured is Beth kicking butt!
OUR JUDGE - GARNETT CLAPP
Garnett is a certified Level 1 EC Coach who has competed
in Training Level Eventing and Dressage to Prix St. George.
Garnett also competed in ShowJumping as a child in Germany.
Garnett has coached 3 youths on the Young Riders Eventing
Circuit in Ontario and is an all round talent, with experience both
coaching & showing on the Hunter Circuit to prep her Eventers.
The best thing about having Garnett as Judge is that she always
takes the time to help our campers ride to their very best, in order
that they learn all the ins and outs of properly presenting themselves.
Friendly and helpful, Garnett is a huge asset to our program!

With a little help through the week,
our campers will be ready for....
OUR 2009 HWT HUNTER/JUMPER

&
our beautiful course

It's their chance to show off!
